These are the specification points that move a UAE quotation for this category. Putting them in an enquiry is the difference between a real number and a callback asking questions.
The single biggest price step. A 12m electric scissor and a 23m rough-terrain boom are different machines on different trailers with different operators — quote the height you actually need at the work face, not the building height.
Electric machines are for finished floors indoors; diesel 4x4 machines are for compacted sand, kerbs and slopes. Asking for the wrong one is the most common cause of a machine being rejected at the gate.
A UAE site will not let a platform through the gate without a valid TPI certificate from an accredited body. A machine with a certificate expiring mid-hire is a machine that stops working mid-hire.
The platform is normally hired dry and operated by the hirer's own IPAF-carded staff. If nobody on site holds a card, that is a separate arrangement and a separate cost.
Most UAE owners price aerial platforms by the week or the month. Single-day hire is often either unavailable or priced so that a week is cheaper.
Charged separately and per leg, and they scale with distance and with whether the machine needs a low-bed. Two legs on a short hire can rival the hire itself.
