Dump Truck Rental UAE — Per-Day Rates by Capacity (2026)

Dump truck rental in the UAE runs from AED 600 per day for a small dry-hire tipper up to AED 3,000 per day for a large driven dump truck. Driver inclusion is the single biggest swing factor — wet hire (with driver) is typically 2-3x the dry hire rate. Here's the full pricing picture with real 2026 rates.

Dump truck rates by capacity

UAE rental companies price tippers by load capacity in cubic metres, axle count, and whether a driver is included. Most contractors rent driven trucks because the trucks are road-licensed Class 5 vehicles requiring a UAE heavy-vehicle licence — sourcing your own driver is rarely worth the hassle.

Truck typeDaily dry hire (AED)Daily with driver (AED)Monthly with driver (AED)
6-wheel tipper (10 m³)600 – 9001,500 – 2,50025,000 – 35,000
Standard 3-axle (12-16 m³)800 – 1,2001,800 – 2,80032,000 – 45,000
HOWO 4-axle (18-25 m³)1,000 – 1,5002,000 – 3,00038,000 – 52,000
Heavy class (32 m³ Volvo/HOWO)1,200 – 1,7002,200 – 3,20042,000 – 58,000

Hourly hire is also common — particularly on muck-away contracts where you're paying per trip rather than per day. Hourly rates typically run AED 150-200 per hour with driver included.

Wet hire vs dry hire — why the gap is so wide

A driven dump truck is roughly 2-3x the dry hire price. The reason: in addition to the truck itself, you're paying for:

If you have your own licensed drivers on staff, dry hire is significantly cheaper. If not, wet hire is the only practical option — sourcing freelance heavy-vehicle drivers in the UAE is administratively painful for short contracts.

Fuel — who pays?

This varies more for dump trucks than for other equipment classes. The three common arrangements:

  1. Customer pays fuel (most common): You provide fuel at site or through a designated card. The rental rate is the lower published figure.
  2. Driver fuels, customer reimburses: Driver fills up against a fuel card or weekly cash advance. You see the receipts.
  3. All-in driven hire (rare): Fuel is bundled. Rate is 15-20% higher than the customer-fuel rate. Suits short projects where you don't want to manage fuel logistics.

A loaded 18 m³ HOWO doing site-to-dump-yard cycles burns roughly 35-45 L of diesel per hour. At UAE diesel prices around AED 3.10/L, that's AED 110-140 per hour just for fuel — over a 10-hour shift, AED 1,100-1,400 per truck per day in fuel alone. On a large project with 5-10 trucks, that adds up fast.

Cycle time — the real cost driver

The truck's daily rate matters less than how many cycles it completes per day. If your dump yard is 20 km from site, a 16 m³ truck might do 8-10 cycles per day. If it's 50 km away (e.g. some Abu Dhabi muck-away routes), the same truck might only do 4-5 cycles. You're paying the same daily rate for half the throughput.

When pricing a haul contract, calculate per m³, not per day. A 32 m³ Volvo at AED 3,000/day doing 5 cycles = AED 18 per m³. The same truck at AED 2,200/day doing 3 cycles = AED 23 per m³. The cheaper daily rate is often the more expensive haul rate. Run the math on your specific yard distance before signing.

Permits and routing

Heavy dump trucks in the UAE are subject to:

If you're running multiple trucks on a site, the cumulative Salik and routing costs are non-trivial — easily AED 500-1,000 per week on a busy Dubai-to-yard cycle.

When to go monthly

Dump trucks have a faster break-even on monthly hire than other equipment classes because driver wages compound — a freelance driver on daily rate costs much more than a monthly-employed one. Rough math on a 16 m³ standard truck:

Job lengthBest rate optionIndicative total (AED)
5 daysDaily × 5~12,000
12 daysMonthly (cheaper than 2 weeks daily)~38,000
30 daysMonthly~38,000
60 daysMonthly × 2 with renewal discount~70,000-74,000

The break-even is around 10-12 days. Anything longer, go monthly. Negotiate renewal discounts for jobs over 60 days.

Six questions to ask before signing

  1. Capacity in cubic metres, not just "12-wheeler" or "tipper". 10 m³ vs 14 m³ trucks look similar on a quote but represent 40% capacity difference.
  2. Driver visa, licence validity, and Emirates ID copies? Required for site access in JAFZA, DAFZA, and most government projects.
  3. Who pays Salik, fuel, and parking fines? Get it in writing.
  4. What's the breakdown SLA? A non-functional truck on a muck-away schedule cascades delays.
  5. Are weekend / overtime / Friday rates different? Some operators charge time-and-a-half on Fridays and public holidays.
  6. Cycle vs daily basis? If you're running a fixed-cycle muck-away contract, ask for per-trip pricing — often cheaper than daily rate.
