Mini Excavator Rental in Dubai — Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates (2026)
If you're renting a mini excavator in Dubai, expect to pay between AED 380 and AED 950 per day depending on tonnage class — or roughly AED 8,000 to AED 19,000 per month if you're going long. These are the published rates from UAE rental companies as of mid-2026, not estimates. Here's the full breakdown.
The straight answer — daily and monthly rates by tonnage
UAE rental companies price mini excavators by weight class, not specific model. A "1-ton" is anything from a Kubota U17 to a CAT 301.7 — they'll get you a comparable machine, not necessarily the brand you asked for. Here's what the market is charging:
| Tonnage class | Daily (AED) | Monthly (AED) | Implied discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 ton (micro) | 380 – 700 | 7,500 – 13,000 | ~45% |
| 1.5 ton | 450 – 650 | 9,000 – 13,000 | ~40% |
| 3 ton | 550 – 850 | 11,000 – 16,000 | ~40% |
| 5 ton | 650 – 1,100 | 13,000 – 19,000 | ~40% |
All rates above are dry hire — machine only, no operator. Fuel is your responsibility. Standard UAE working day is 10 hours including a one-hour break, six days per week. Anything beyond that bills as overtime, pro-rata.
What an operator costs on top
Most rental companies in the UAE offer operators as a separate line item. Budget AED 400 to AED 800 per day extra for a certified mini excavator operator, with smaller machines at the lower end. The uplift on a 2-ton mini, fully operated and ready to dig, typically lands between AED 800 and AED 1,200 per day total.
Delivery and mobilisation — the hidden line item
Mobilisation (delivery) and demobilisation (collection) are almost always charged separately. Industry guidance puts mini excavator delivery in these ranges:
- Within Dubai (Al Quoz to a city site): AED 500 to AED 800 typical for a mini, depending on trailer requirements.
- Dubai to Sharjah or Ajman: AED 800 to AED 1,500.
- Dubai to Abu Dhabi or Mussafah: AED 2,000 to AED 4,000 — longer haul, fuel surcharge applies.
- Dubai to Al Ain, Ruwais, or Fujairah: AED 3,000 to AED 8,000+ depending on machine size and whether the truck has to return empty.
The bigger your machine, the higher the mobilisation cost — a 5-ton mini needs a heavier trailer than a 1-ton, and that's priced in. If you can group deliveries (e.g. multiple machines on one low-bed), most rental companies will discount the per-unit haul.
What about attachments?
Standard mini excavators come with a digging bucket. Anything else is extra:
- Hydraulic breaker: AED 400 to AED 800 per day extra
- Auger (post-hole digger): AED 300 to AED 600 per day extra
- Compactor plate / vibratory roller: AED 200 to AED 400 per day extra
- Grading bucket / tilting bucket: Usually included on request; some companies charge AED 100 to AED 250 per day
If you know in advance what attachments you'll need, ask for the package rate. Most suppliers will bundle a bucket + breaker for less than the sum of the individual rates.
Should you rent daily, weekly, or monthly?
Monthly rentals are massively discounted in the UAE — roughly 40-45% cheaper per day than the daily rate. Quick comparison for a 3-ton machine:
| If your job runs... | Best rate option | Total cost (AED) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | Daily × 3 | ~2,100 |
| 10 days | Daily × 10 or 2-week negotiated rate | ~5,500 – 7,000 |
| 3 weeks | Monthly (24-day rate) | ~12,000 – 14,000 |
| 5 weeks + | Monthly × 2 with renewal discount | Negotiable down to ~AED 11,000/month |
Rule of thumb: if your job runs 15 days or more, take the monthly rate. You'll pay less than three weeks of daily hire and you'll lock in delivery scheduling.
What you should always ask before signing
- Is VAT included or added? Most UAE B2B rentals are quoted ex-VAT. The 5% adds up on a monthly hire.
- Who pays for fuel? Almost always the customer — but confirm in writing.
- Minimum rental period? Some companies have a 3-day minimum or a half-day surcharge.
- What about breakdowns? The rental company should swap a non-working machine within 24 hours. Ask for this commitment in writing.
- Operator credentials? If you're hiring with operator, ask to see the DM plant licence and any third-party competence cards before mobilisation.
- Insurance and damage policy? Most rentals include third-party liability but exclude machine damage. Clarify the damage waiver and the deductible.
What's driving prices in 2026?
Two trends to watch: peak season runs October through April when cooler weather drives construction activity, and rates tend to firm up by 10-15% in that window. Summer (May to September) is the right time to lock in a monthly rate on a long-term project — suppliers have machines sitting idle and will negotiate.
The second trend: bigger UAE-based rental fleets (Al Faris, Manlift Group, Kanoo Machinery) won't publish prices online and will quote based on your project size and history. Smaller suppliers and listings on marketplaces like ours offer published, transparent rates — usually within the ranges above, sometimes 10-15% lower if you book direct.
Methodology and sources
The rates in this guide were compiled from six UAE rental company websites and marketplace listings that publish public pricing as of May 2026: AdnanRentals, Dmag Equipment, DreamWay Rental, BuildOra G, SS Rental, and direct supplier listings from across our marketplace. Ranges reflect the spread between sources — if you're getting quoted outside this range, ask for a breakdown.
