Mobile Crane Rental Dubai — Cost by Tonnage (2026)

Mobile crane hire in Dubai runs from about AED 1,500 per day for a 25-tonne all-terrain crane to AED 15,000+ per day for a 250-tonne machine, always with operator. Capacity, boom reach, and mobilisation drive the cost. Here's how mobile crane pricing works in 2026.

Mobile crane rates by capacity

Mobile and all-terrain cranes are rented wet (operator mandatory) and priced by rated capacity in tonnes. Note that rated capacity is not lifting capacity at distance — a 50t crane lifts far less at full radius. Always size by the load chart, not the headline tonnage.

Mobilisation and lift planning

Larger cranes travel as multiple loads (crane + counterweights + boom sections) so mobilisation is a major line item — AED 2,000 to tens of thousands for the biggest machines. Critical or public-area lifts require a lift study/method statement and sometimes RTA road-closure permits; factor the lead time.

Get the supplier the load weight, lift radius and height first. The crane is sized from the load chart — under-spec and the lift can't be done safely; over-spec and you overpay. A 5-minute load-chart check saves a wasted mobilisation.

Operator, rigging and supervision

Hire includes a certified operator; complex lifts also need a banksman/rigger and a lift supervisor — confirm whether these are included or your scope. Operators work a standard shift; overtime and night lifts attract surcharges.

Mobile crane vs tower crane

For repetitive vertical lifting on a building over months, a tower crane is usually cheaper overall — see our tower-crane cost guide. Mobile cranes win for short-duration, mobile, or one-off heavy lifts where you don't want a fixed crane on site.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a mobile crane in Dubai?

From about AED 1,500-3,000/day for a 25-50t all-terrain crane to AED 7,000-15,000/day for 100-250t, always with operator. Mobilisation is charged separately.

Is the operator included with crane rental?

Yes — mobile cranes are always rented with a certified operator. Complex lifts may also need a rigger/banksman and lift supervisor, which you should confirm are in scope.

What size crane do I need?

Size by the load chart, not the headline tonnage — capacity drops sharply at radius and height. Give the supplier the load weight, lift radius and height and they'll specify the right machine.

Do I need a permit for a crane lift in Dubai?

Critical lifts, public-area lifts or road-side work often require a lift study/method statement and sometimes RTA permits or road closures. Build in lead time for approvals.

Mobile crane or tower crane?

Tower cranes are cheaper for months of repetitive building lifts; mobile cranes win for short, one-off or heavy mobile lifts. See our tower-crane rental cost guide to compare.
